Without the Bread

In the early 2000s, food insecurity was a growing concern. Though to be honest, no one saw how dire things would be more than 20 years later. At the time, Daily Bread Food Bank not only had a need for financial and food donations, but faced a critical shortage of volunteers. This was the 2nd phase of the food bank’s Out Of Home campaign and it contains one of my favourite headlines of the time, “Without the bread there’s still the daily.”

Without the bread there’s still the daily

For many Toronto families, the monthly budget ends before the month does. That’s when the struggle begins. To find money for everyday things, like rent or TTC tokens, or medications or schoolbooks.

Or food.

We can help Toronto’s hungry. Our warehouse has food on its shelves. Your help can get it to them. From taking orders to tracking inventory, many skills are needed to end hunger.

Help us bring food to Toronto’s tables. Volunteer at the Daily Bread Food Bank.
